A small service area located in the rolling hills of Lanarkshire. It's located where the A74(M) motorway becomes the M74, so the services serve two routes even though in reality there's only one. A recent survey concluded that the services have the best toilets of all motorway services in Scotland.

In 2008 the services won a five star loo award. They came top in the Scottish motorway services category.

In 2006 and again in 2007, the services won a three-star loo award.

Like Gretna down the road, Abington also replaces Little Chefs northbound and southbound which were situated just a few miles south by the village of Abington. They were offset and I think the northbound one was slightly further south.
